is the most popular way to get to Monteverde. It is strictly
a one-way transfer to leave La Fortuna on the way to the beaches.
There are three ways to get there:
1.) Public bus and takes
8 hours with several changes
2.) Rental car and takes about 5 hours
3.) Jeep/Boat/Jeep and only takes 2½ hours!
PLUS you get an amazing boat
ride across Arenal Lake with a view of the volcano, a wonderful
ride through rainforest and pastures, as well as spectacular
views that would not be possible on the main road. You arrive
by 11:00 gaining an extra day of vacation by not spending
all day getting there. This allows for one less night in Monteverde,
and more time on the beach!
